Automotive Parts Manufacturer N’s Mexico Subsidiary: Integrated Information System Implementation Project

2024.02.29.

 Company Overview

N’s Mexico subsidiary specializes in the production of steering gear assemblies, rack bars, pinion shafts, steering column assemblies, u/ joint assemblies, and worm wheels, supplying these components to global automotive manufacturers. Through its Mexico operations, the company continues to meet local customer demands while consistently improving quality and production efficiency.

 Customer Needs

N’s Mexico subsidiary faced several operational challenges, including manual cost calculations and inconsistencies between its MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and financial data. These issues led to duplicated tasks and manual efforts for frontline employees. Additionally, processes related to FTA (Free Trade Agreement) compliance were also performed manually. The absence of a cost management system hindered the reconstruction of the financial system and delayed the delivery of accurate financial data for decision-making by the management team.

Why Woongjin and the Solution were Chosen

N selected SAP Business One to establish a scalable and integrated system optimized for global operations. Woongjin was chosen as the implementation partner due to its extensive experience with global projects and a proven track record in delivering solutions for multiple Mexico-based subsidiaries. To address FTA compliance and improve resource management, Woongjin provided a solution that maximized real-time data accuracy through reliable data management and MES system integration.

 Results

Following the implementation of SAP Business One and the integration with the MES system, N significantly improved the accuracy of real-time data in production and inventory management. The FTA-related document processing was streamlined, enhancing compliance, while efficient resource management boosted overall operational efficiency. These improvements enabled data-driven and accurate decision-making, greatly enhancing the transparency and reliability of N’s operations.
