 Company Overview 

K is a global company headquartered in Germany, specializing in designing, developing, and manufacturing machinery and automation systems, including filling and packaging technologies. Operating in major markets worldwide, K's Korea branch provides automated machinery and equipment solutions to leading beverage, alcohol, food, and pharmaceutical companies in the country.

 Customer Needs 

K operates subsidiaries worldwide, including in Korea, South Africa, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and South America. These subsidiaries used different ERP systems, creating challenges in unified management. In particular, the Korean branch faced inefficiencies and burdens in complying with local regulations and K-GAAP (Korean Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), which required detailed data preparation. Furthermore, discrepancies between the headquarters and the Korean branch led to a decline in report quality and highlighted the need for real-time data management aligned with global standards. As a result, K needed a solution that could maintain global standard processes while meeting Korea’s local requirements.

 Why Woongjin and the Solution were Chosen 

K chose SAP Business One to integrate ERP systems across its global subsidiaries. In Korea, the company selected Woongjin, the leading SAP Business One partner. Woongjin was chosen not only for its extensive experience in implementing ERP systems for global companies but also for its Localization Add-On solutions optimized for Korean regulations(K-GAAP). The combination of SAP Business One's global-standard platform and Woongjin's localization expertise provided the ideal solution to effectively integrate the ERP systems of K’s headquarters and its Korean branch.

 Results 

The implementation of the SAP Business One Localization Add-On significantly enhanced the efficiency and accuracy of K’s ERP system operations. By centrally managing the headquarters’ master data (such as customers and products), K achieved data consistency and reliability, resolving data discrepancies between the headquarters and the Korean branch and greatly improving the quality of reports. Additionally, an automated reporting system fully compliant with Korean tax and accounting standards (K-GAAP) was established, replacing the labor-intensive manual processes and boosting efficiency. Moreover, SAP Business One enabled automated report generation and real-time data sharing with the headquarters while maintaining global standard processes. At the same time, it provided a user-centric system tailored to Korea’s local environment, significantly improving operational convenience and efficiency.
