Company Overview
Daiichi Sankyo is a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Japan, operating in over 60 countries, including the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Daiichi Sankyo Korea Co., Ltd., the Korean subsidiary of Daiichi Sankyo, focuses on cardiovascular treatments. Building on Daiichi Sankyo’s global vision, pipeline, and the strengths of its Korean subsidiary, Daiichi Sankyo Korea aims to strengthen its expertise and leadership in the cardiovascular pharmaceutical market while enhancing its competitiveness in the oncology field, which has high unmet medical needs.
Customer Needs
Since all of Daiichi Sankyo’s subsidiaries operate under a unified SAP ERP system, the goal was to roll in the Korean subsidiary’s existing system to increase system integration across the group. This required applying the global template according to Daiichi Sankyo’s project methodology and managing data integration while also considering the specific requirements of the Korean pharmaceutical industry.
Why Woongjin and the Solution were Chosen
Woongjin was selected due to its extensive experience in implementing and operating SAP ERP systems in the pharmaceutical industry, with a clear understanding of the industry's need for precise data management. Additionally, Woongjin had successfully completed multiple system rollout projects for global brands' overseas subsidiaries, making it a strong partner for this project with the ability to provide clear guidance for successful implementation.
Results
Daiichi Sankyo successfully integrated its Korean subsidiary into the global SAP ERP system, creating a more convenient and efficient business environment through user-focused functionality development.
Woongjin implemented a web-based CRM system to accommodate SAP ERP accessibility and the need for handling a large volume of orders. This system allows sales representatives to register orders and manage distributor sales performance data while enabling distributors to directly upload and register data. The result was reduced order processing time, lower labor costs, and increased convenience for distributors, minimizing errors and mistakes.
Furthermore, the transition from manual sales and expenditure data collection to a digital system significantly reduced processing time and error potential. The new system also provides data analysis reports, offering valuable business insights.
