Woongjin will work with Microsoft to jointly identify opportunities for customers to implement SAP on Azure and migrate to Azure cloud, while also supporting AI(artificial intelligence)-based enterprise digital transformation.

Woongjin is a specialized partner supporting SAP-based ERP services and has experience in information system implementation and operations consulting across various industries. Based on a strategic partnership with Woongjin, Microsoft signed a Go-To-Market cooperation MOU and will collaborate on the migration of enterprise resource planning(ERP) and related systems to Microsoft’s cloud platform, Azure.

First, the two companies will migrate customers’ ERP systems for small and mid-sized businesses(SAP Business One) to Azure and expand support for new customers adopting cloud. They plan to provide strategic cloud offerings to Woongjin’s existing customers and contribute to strengthening corporate competitiveness and growth.

Woongjin has already successfully completed the Azure migration of Secret Direct Korea’s Business One. In addition, in response to the global spread of the pandemic, Woongjin is currently building Azure-based Windows Virtual Desktop environments, including Active Directory integration and file servers, for its affiliate Woongjin Thinkbig.

Through Microsoft Power Platform, robotic process automation(RPA), Power BI, and other technologies, Woongjin will also help customers accelerate digital transformation by applying more advanced technologies through AI-based service integration.

In addition, the two companies will cooperate to identify cloud migration opportunities for SAP ERP and S/4HANA-related systems. To continue discovering digital transformation opportunities, the companies plan to jointly host a seminar in September, where they will introduce cloud adoption cases and effective cloud adoption strategies to enterprise customers and provide one-on-one customized consulting.

Suyoung Lee, CEO of Woongjin, said, "Through this strategic cloud partnership with Microsoft, we expect synergy based on both companies’ expertise, technological capabilities, and diverse business experience." He added, "We will continue to identify digital transformation opportunities, which are essential steps toward enterprise digital transformation."

Ji-eun Lee, CEO of Microsoft Korea, said, “We expect this strategic collaboration between the two companies to create a best practice for migrating ERP and related business systems to Azure.” She added, “We will actively support companies of various sizes so that they can grow further through cloud transformation.”
